BADRI took the top-down approach for the implementation of business intelligence platform. After exploring different options, Qlik Sense came out as the platform of choice providing cost-efficient on-premises implementation of the BI platform. The implementation agenda included various reports and dashboards for different functions, lines of business and management team. The solution delivery was planned in phases spanning
across months. After the operationalization of phase I, the BI solution improved repoting accuracy, reduced manual effort, and enabled faster access to businesscritical insights. Background
Established in 1980, National General Insurance Co. (PJSC) is a leading composite insurer in the UAE, publicly listed on the Dubai Financial Market. With over 40 years of experience, NGI offers a comprehensive range of insurance products for both individuals and corporates, including motor, medical, life, property, marine, engineering, and liability insurance. The company is backed by reputable global reinsurers such as Hannover Re, Allianz, Scor, and CCR, and maintains an “A-(Excellent)” rating from AM Best. Before implementing the BI solution, NGI used a mix of dashboards built on older system and Excel-based manual reporting processes. These methods often required significant time and efforts and lead to information inconsistency challenges. The absence of timely online access to information made timely decision-making difficult while undermining effective collaboration, a hallmark of an effective leadership.
The Implemented Solution
The objectives of the solutions were understood as:
Increase visibility and understanding of key business metrics and KPIs.
Streamline complex reporting processes by automating manual tasks.
Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing using standardized dashboards.
